Privacy Policy

Effective 8 September 2026. Musketeers, South Africa · hello@musketeers.io

What we collect, why, and who else handles it. Musketeers is the responsible party for this information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act.

What we collect

Account information: the email address and name your sign-in provider gives us, and when and from where you sign in. Workspace content: the code you write and the data your functions store. Operational records: for each request to your functions, when it happened, its duration and status, and an identifier for the caller; logs your functions write; and diagnostic information about the platform. Billing records: which workspace a purchase was for and the transaction and subscription identifiers Paddle gives us. Card details are entered on Paddle's checkout and are not sent to us.

How we use it

To provide, operate, secure, support and improve the service; to bill you; to communicate with you about your account and the service; to enforce our terms; to comply with the law; and to protect our rights and those of others. We may access workspace content where that is necessary for support you have asked for, for security, to enforce our terms, or where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.

Who else handles it

We use third-party providers to run the service — hosting, networking, DNS and certificates, sign-in, payments, monitoring and email — and they process information on our behalf under their own terms. Sign-in is verified through Google Firebase and payments are taken by Paddle, both of which you interact with directly. We may disclose information where the law requires it, to protect the platform or others, or as part of a sale or restructuring of the business.

Your end users

If your workspace signs people in or stores information about them, you are the responsible party for those people and their data. We process it only on your instructions, as expressed by the code you deploy. You must have your own lawful basis and your own privacy notice for them.

Retention

We keep information for as long as it is needed for the purposes above, for as long as your account or workspace exists, and afterwards for as long as backups, operational records and the law require. We may delete content of closed accounts and suspended or deleted workspaces at any time without notice.

Your rights

Subject to the law, you may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and you may object to certain processing. Write to the address above; we may need to verify your identity, and we respond within the time the law allows. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information, but no service is perfectly secure and we cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed or disclosed without authorisation. You are responsible for keeping your keys and credentials secret.

Cookies and changes

The console uses three cookies, none for tracking: one keeps you signed in, one remembers which workspace you have open, and one, holding only the value 1, tells this site you are signed in so it can link you to your dashboard. We may update this policy; the current version is at this address with its effective date.
